Are our food tours ACIS Tours For Adults?

I remember when I was a child touring New York with my parents. While we had found the best food tours in NYC, we were really looking for something similar to ACIS tours for adults. As we took the food tour, I thought, what if I could combine the two and make ACIS tours but with amazing food? That was the genesis of Ultimate Food Tours, and years later, I am proud to say we’ve made it.

As I was refining the Chinatown tour post-COVID, I remember saying to myself, how can I make Chinatown one the best food tours in NYC for Chinese food? I decided to combine the history of the neighborhood with the history of Chinese food with the history of China. The result was an educational tour that takes viewers through most of the eight culinary regions of China all in Manhattan’s Chinatown!

A few years later, I started writing a Jewish Food Tour with the same goal: To make this tour one of the best food tours in NYC for Jewish food. I was able to craft a narrative telling a story about how Jewish food doesn’t actually exist, it is just food that Jews ate wherever they lived. However, when people think about the best New York Pastrami sandwich or the best smoked salmon and bagels, they think that this is Jewish food. However, this is New York Food that Jews ate. Keeping the narrative of ACIS tours for adults in mind, I again combined NYC history with Jewish food history with Jewish history. The result is one of the best food tours in NYC, but also one of the best history tours in the city.

Of course, we understand that not everyone wants to go on a food tour. We’ve made a list of some of our favorite tours in New York city, which you can check out here. We’re always working on more tours, but if there is something you would like to see, we love the challenge of putting them together. Fill out the form below to request more information on a custom tour that combines history and food. We respond to every request, so ask away! We look forward to hearing from you.
